CM Vishnudev Sai will be on Bilha tour today

Bilaspur. In keeping with its commitment, the Chhattisgarh government will transfer ₹10,324 crore in input subsidy to the state’s farmers’ bank accounts today, before the festival of Holi. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai will release this amount to 252,800 farmers under the Krishak Unnati Yojana at a mega farmers’ conference held at the Rahangi Sports Ground in Bilha development block of Bilaspur district.

This ceremony for the distribution of input subsidy under the mega farmers’ conference and Krishak Unnati Yojana will begin at 12 noon. It is noteworthy that the Chhattisgarh government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, recently decided to provide farmers with a lump sum payment for the difference in the price of paddy before Holi. With the release of the funds on February 28th, the Chhattisgarh government’s commitment will be fulfilled, and farmers’ enjoyment of the Holi festival will be doubled.

It is noteworthy that the Chhattisgarh government is implementing the Krishak Unnati Yojana to ensure farmers receive a fair price for their paddy. Under this scheme, the Chhattisgarh government is providing farmers with a price of ₹3,100 per quintal for paddy, the highest in the country. In the Kharif marketing year 2025-26, 14.1 million metric tons of paddy was procured from 2.528 million farmers in the state at the support price. All farmers selling paddy will benefit from this scheme.

It is also worth noting that under the Krishak Unnati Yojana, more than ₹35,000 crore has been provided to the state’s farmers in the form of input assistance. Including paddy procurement at the support price, the Krishak Unnati Yojana, and other farmer-friendly schemes, more than ₹1.50 lakh crore has been transferred directly to the bank accounts of the state’s food providers. The farmer-friendly Chhattisgarh government has also made provisions in this year’s budget to provide insurance coverage to farmers and laborers. The government has allocated ₹600 crore under the Deendayal Upadhyaya Landless Agricultural Labourers Welfare Scheme and ₹5,500 crore for providing free electricity to farmers’ irrigation pumps. To protect farmers’ crops, the government has also allocated ₹820 crore for the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana in the 2026-27 budget.

Due to the Chhattisgarh government’s farmer-friendly policies, farmers’ interest in farming is steadily increasing in the state, and due to government incentives, they are also investing more in agriculture. This is a positive sign for the strengthening of agriculture and the rural economy of the state.
