Investment proposal of more than 1 lakh crore received in thermal power project
Chhattisgarh is now moving rapidly towards energy revolution. In the ‘Chhattisgarh Energy Investors Summit’ held in Raipur today, many big companies have announced investments of more than 3 lakh crores. With this investment, new power generation projects will start in the state in areas like nuclear, thermal, solar and pumped storage. This will not only benefit the industries, but the common people will also get cheap and continuous electricity. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai says that this investment in the field of energy in Chhattisgarh will take the power generation capacity of the state to new heights and pave the way for a green future by promoting renewable energy. Our goal is that Chhattisgarh should not only become self-reliant in energy, but also be established as an energy hub for the entire country.
Chhattisgarh is already producing 30,000 MW of electricity, which is more than the national average. Now every person is getting 2048 kilowatt-hours of electricity, which is meeting the energy needs of the state. In the field of nuclear energy, NTPC has planned to set up a 4200 MW nuclear power project at a cost of Rs 80,000 crore. This will mark the beginning of power generation from nuclear energy in Chhattisgarh.
Big investments have also been announced in the thermal power sector. Adani Power will set up three thermal power plants of 1600 MW each in Korba, Raigarh and Raipur by spending Rs 66,720 crore. Jindal Power will invest Rs 12,800 crore to generate 1600 MW of power in Raigarh, while Sarda Energy will invest Rs 5,300 crore for a 660 MW plant in Raigarh. Apart from this, government companies NTPC and CSPGCL will generate 4500 MW of power at a cost of Rs 41,120 crore.
