There is widespread awareness among the people about cleanliness: Chief Minister

The purpose with which our country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi started the Swachh Bharat Mission in 2014 is now being realized in Chhattisgarh. There is widespread awareness among the people about cleanliness and toilets have been constructed in crores of families. He said that this has been possible due to the vision and willpower of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The resolution of our illustrious Prime Minister Narendra Modi to have a clean and developed nation is also an important goal for the people of Chhattisgarh. To achieve this goal, our state is moving rapidly towards making Chhattisgarh an ODF Plus model state, crossing new milestones every day. This is not just a goal but a lifestyle of cleanliness, which will lead to our development, the development of the country. So far, 5 districts, 58 development blocks and more than 16 thousand villages of our state have become ODF Plus models. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai said this while flagging off 10 de-sludge vehicles from his residence today with the aim of strengthening the sanitation system and increasing cleanliness in rural areas.

Chief Minister Sai praised the initiative taken under Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural) and said that this will help in improving the level of cleanliness in rural areas. During this, Chief Minister Shri Sai handed over the keys and documents of de-sludge vehicles to the Sarpanch and Secretaries of Gram Panchayats of 10 different districts of the state. It is noteworthy that these vehicles will be used to remove faeces from houses in villages and dispose it off safely.
