Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday virtually inaugurated 20 new bus stands under the Ama Bus Stand Yojana in 13 districts of the state. Out of the 20 new bus stands, three have been set up in Keonjhar, two each in Angul, Balasore, Kendrapara, Rayagada and Nayagarh and one each in Boudh, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Koraput, Nuapada, Sambalpur and Sonepur districts.
The state government has planned to open a bus stand in every block of the state as part of the Ama Bus Stand Yojana. The rural roads, development of bus stand and Laxmi Bus Yojana have improved the transport system. Last year, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated 21 new bus stands and said that two crore people will benefit once these stands are completed. All these bus stands are modern and smart bus stands with facilities available for passengers, drivers and others. As many as 50,000 drivers will be trained under this scheme. This Yojana has all facilties for the drivers, passengers and employees.
