CM announces black flag protest today against constituency reorganisation

Tamil Nadu: Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has announced that a black flag protest will be held on Thursday (April 16) against the reorganization of constituencies in Tamil Nadu.

Chief Minister M. Stalin posted on social media on Wednesday: “They are trying to suppress the voice of Tamil Nadu in Parliament by introducing legal amendments without considering objections to the reorganization of constituencies. The amendment to the law being introduced in Parliament will create a difference in the number of members from northern and southern states. They are saying they are increasing the number of seats for southern states, including Tamil Nadu, but they are going to increase the number of seats for northern states favorable to them, and create a situation where southern states will not need representation at all. We call this a grave injustice to us.”

Prime Minister Modi is trying to make Tamils and people from southern states second-class citizens. Let us all hoist black flags at our homes in Tamil Nadu

to show our opposition to the amendment bill being introduced in Parliament on Thursday. The BJP is proving my point that this is an election for Tamil Nadu and Delhi. Constituencies should not be decided based on population; black laws should not be passed. This is the single demand of 80 million Tamils. Tamil Nadu must rise up to protect the rights of Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin posted.

Instructions to DMK District Secretaries: As per Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s instructions, the DMK leadership has directed DMK District Secretaries to hoist black flags against the BJP government on Thursday at all homes and public places in all districts, including cities, unions, towns, localities, villages, taluks, and branches.
