Chandigarh: BSF seized a Chinese drone with a packet of 500 grams of heroin near the India-Pakistan border in Punjab’s Amritsar district. “Acting on a tip-off, BSF troops conducted a massive search operation in the suspected area,” BSF said on Saturday.
BSF Punjab Frontier said that around 4.45 pm on Friday, the troops recovered a drone along with a packet of suspected heroin weighing 500 grams. The packet was wrapped in yellow adhesive tape and a small flashlight was also found attached to the drone.
This recovery took place in the fields adjacent to Nestha village, about 300 km from Chandigarh. The recovered drone is a China-made DJI Mavic 3 Classic. “Credible inputs and action of BSF troops once again foiled an illegal attempt to smuggle narcotics through drones from across the border,” BSF said.
