Raipur. An important meeting was held on the ongoing campaigns against Naxalism in the Naxal-affected states of the country. The focus of the meeting was the recently successfully completed anti-Naxal operation in Chhattisgarh, in which the state police killed 31 Naxalites. Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised the efforts of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai and his team in this operation. He said that from January this year till now, the security forces of Chhattisgarh have killed about 194 Naxalites in encounters. At the same time, 801 Naxalites were arrested and 742 Naxalites have surrendered. He said that even today the youth who are involved in Naxalism are requested to leave the weapon and join the mainstream. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai gave detailed information about the Naxal operation in the meeting. He told how the state police and intelligence agencies carried out this operation after months of hard work and planning. About 1000 soldiers were involved in the operation, who surrounded the Gawadi mountain located within a radius of 15 kilometers and killed 31 Naxalites. Many big Naxal leaders were killed in this operation, 16 of whom had a total reward of Rs 1 crore 30 lakh declared on their heads. 18 male and 13 female Naxalites were killed in the encounter. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai explained in his presentation how the state police force carried out this operation based on accurate intelligence.
