Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai did Shramdaan by cleaning the pond premises
Raipur: ‘Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan-2024’ was launched today at Telibandha pond in Raipur. On this occasion, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai inaugurated the campaign by administering oath. In this program organized under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw, people were sworn in for cleanliness with the slogan of “Swabhaav Swachhata Sanskar Swachhata”. Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan will run from 17 September to 1 October in Chhattisgarh.
On the occasion of the launch of the campaign, MLAs Purandar Mishra, Motilal Sahu, Anuj Sharma, Urban Administration Department Secretary S Basavaraju, Raipur Mayor Ejaz Dhebar, Municipal Corporation Leader of Opposition Meenal Choubey, Collector Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh and Corporation Commissioner Abinash Mishra along with others were present. A large number of Swachhata Didi, Safai Mitras, students and people from various social organizations participated in the program. Various NGOs participating in the Swachhata Abhiyan were honored and PPE kits were distributed to Safai Mitras.
While addressing the program, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai said that today is the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and on this occasion, the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign is being launched. He congratulated PM Modi on his birthday on behalf of 3 crore people of the state. In 2014, PM Modi had launched the Swachhata Abhiyan by hoisting the tricolor at the Red Fort. Earlier people did not pay attention to cleanliness. But after the campaign, many changes came. Toilets were built for cleanliness and the respect of mothers and sisters increased.
CM Sai further said in his address that the son of a poor can understand the problems of the poor, PM Modi, the son of a poor man who sells tea, worked for the poor. The fortnight has been started from today, many programs will be organized for awareness. Cleanliness has to be made a habit. Everyone has to run it as a campaign, it has to be made a social movement.
