Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai to inaugurate Jagar 2024 on March 10

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai will inaugurate Jagar 2024, a popular annual handicrafts and handloom exhibition, on March 10 at 7 pm. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao will be presiding over the event. Organized annually by the Chhattisgarh Handicrafts Development Board, this exhibition aims to showcase the rich cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh.

Jagar 2024 will feature a diverse range of handicrafts from Chhattisgarh, including bell metal (Dhokra), iron, wood, bamboo, carpet, sisal, godana, tumba, terracotta, and chhind-kansa. Handloom enthusiasts can expect to find a variety of textiles including Kosa sarees, dupattas, salwar suits, dress material, cotton bedsheets, and various types of Khadi readymade garments.

In addition to the local crafts, Jagar 2024 will also highlight handicrafts from 11 other states, including chikankari from Lucknow, Banarasi and Bengali sarees, Chanderi and Maheshwari sarees from Madhya Pradesh, as well as brass figurines from Tikamgarh, jute work from West Bengal, Kantha work and Phulkari from Punjab, Mojri leathercraft and embroidered salwar suits from Rajasthan, jewellery from Delhi, bedsheets from Haryana Panipat, Kolhapuris from Maharashtra, Bhagalpuri dress material from Bihar, and shawls and sarees from Jammu and Kashmir.

The exhibition will be held at the Chhattisgarh Haat Premises in Pandri, Raipur, from March 10 to March 19. Cultural programmes will also be organized every day from 7 pm to 9 pm, adding to the vibrancy of the event.
