Chief Justice Surya Kant gives a class to the judges who are about to retire

New Delhi: Chief Justice Surya Kant has tried to check the corruption in the judicial system. He said that as the retirement age approaches, judges are trying to score sixes with their orders. A case was heard in the Supreme Court today. At that time, Chief Justice Surya Kant made these comments. He said that there is an unfortunate trend in the judicial system, and judges who are approaching retirement are trying to score sixes with their judgments. Along with CJI Suryakant, Justice Joymala Bagchi is also present on the Supreme Court bench.
A district judge from Madhya Pradesh was suspended ten days before his retirement. However, the judge approached the Supreme Court challenging his suspension. As his retirement approached, the judge issued key orders in two cases. In this context, allegations were made against those judgments. Due to this, the judge was suspended. The petitioner said that he tried to hit sixes before his retirement and that he could not say anything in depth on this issue.
In fact, the district judge was supposed to retire on November 30. But he was suspended on November 19. However, the Supreme Court in its order told the Madhya Pradesh government to extend the retirement age of the judge by another year. The judge said that he was not even aware of the two key orders, but that the retirement age was extended by a year. He said that giving emotional orders before retirement has become a trend for judges. The bench asked why he did not approach the High Court challenging his suspension. Senior advocate Vipin Sanghi, appearing for the district judge, said that it was not right to take disciplinary action against a judge who had given improper orders and that he could not be suspended for this. The petitioner was directed to approach the High Court.
