Chennai: Lightning struck a house in Chidambaram, Cuddalore district, causing a wall to collapse, injuring an 11th-grade student and damaging all electrical appliances, causing panic in the area. The incident occurred during a severe thunderstorm in the city this morning. The house, located on Third Cross Street in Sivasakthi Nagar, belongs to Nathiya.
According to a Thanthi TV report, lightning struck the house during heavy rains in the area, causing a portion of the wall to fall on Nathiya, her son Akilan, daughter Gayatri, and relative Kalaiselvi. Akilan suffered serious head injuries in the accident. He was rushed to a private hospital where he received five stitches.
