Maharashtra: Thane Municipal Corporation has decided to keep the shops selling chicken and mutton in Kopri area closed till February 5 after the chickens kept at the official residence of Thane Police Commissioner Ashutosh Dumbare in Bada Bangla area of ​​Thane were found to be infected with bird flu. The Municipal Corporation has taken this step as per the order of the Thane District Magistrate to prevent the spread of bird flu. Last week, it was revealed that 20 chickens kept at the official residence of Thane Police Commissioner Ashutosh Dumbare in Bada Bangla area of ​​Thane were infected with bird flu. After this, the District Animal Husbandry Department had destroyed all the chickens within a radius of one kilometer of the bungalow.

The district administration had also started taking measures as per the action plan to prevent the spread of bird flu in the area. These teams included employees of the state’s Animal Husbandry Department, Thane Municipal Corporation’s Veterinary Department and Public Health Department. Samples of chickens and other domestic birds in the area were also sent for testing. Nothing was found in them. The squad also conducted health check-ups of 127 citizens and took swab samples of 75 people. Nothing was found in it. Meanwhile, as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of bird flu, the District Magistrate has ordered the closure of chicken and egg shops in the Kopri area. Accordingly, the Thane Municipal Corporation has issued a notice to chicken and egg shopkeepers in the Kopri area and ordered them to keep their shops closed till February 5. This news has been confirmed by Dr Chetna Nitil K, Chief Health Officer of Thane Municipal Corporation. The shopkeepers’ response is that they are facing financial losses due to the closure of shops.
