Chhattisgarh: Woman dies after falling from stairs

There was panic among the residents of the elephant-affected colony. People started climbing the roofs of houses using ladders to save their lives. Meanwhile, the elephant was continuously moving towards the settlement.

When this group reached near the colony, Rijho Bai Majhi (45) lost her balance in a hurry to climb the roof using the ladder. She fell down due to slipping of her feet. She was seriously injured. Due to the presence of elephants in the village, the villagers could not take the woman to the hospital at night. After the elephants left, the woman was taken to the Community Health Center Mainpat in the morning. Here the doctors declared her dead.
