Chhattisgarh is at 5th place in the country in making PM Ayushman Vaya-Vandana Card

Raipur. Citizens aged 70 years and above are getting free treatment under the PM Ayushman Vaya-Vandana Yojana launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for senior citizens. In Chhattisgarh, under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and guidance of Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Ayushman Vaya-Vandana cards of more than 3 lakh 60 thousand senior citizens aged 70 years and above have been made. Due to this, Chhattisgarh has reached the fifth position in the whole country in terms of making Vaya Vandana cards. In this case, the state has created a record by going ahead of states like Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Odisha and Bihar. On the instructions of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, Ayushman Vaya-Vandana cards are being made continuously by running special campaigns in all the districts of the state. So that no eligible senior citizen is deprived of the benefit of free treatment under the scheme. In addition to various government departments, camps are being organized in districts for Ayushman Vaya-Vandana registration by continuously contacting social organizations, pensioner organizations, Shiyan-Sadan, Senior-People Welfare Associations, Old Age Homes, Private Residential Societies, etc. It is worth mentioning that any person whose parents or other members are 70 years or older and have Aadhaar card.

They can get free Ayushman card made through the nearest government hospital, CMHO/ Chief Medical and Health Officer Office or Government Health Worker or can get more information by talking on toll free telephone number 104. If a person wants, he can also register both his general Ayushman card or Ayushman Vaya-Vandana card of the senior member of the house by downloading Ayushman Bharat App and Aadhaar Face ID App from Google Play Store and by Aadhaar verification. It is noteworthy that the work of Vaya-Vandana card registration started in the country from the month of October 2024 has been done rapidly in the state after November. The state government is developing 6 districts where more than 60 percent Ayushman Vaya-Vandana card registration coverage has been done, as “Vaya-Mitra” districts, under which special health services like organizing ‘Vaya-Mitra Health Checkup Camp’ in district hospitals and community health centers for senior citizens in these districts, organizing health checkup camps in remote areas through ‘Mobile Medical Unit’, tele-medicine and mental health counseling in Ayushman-Arogya Mandir and organizing ‘Shian-Jatan Camp’ every Thursday, facility of treatment through AYUSH method, cataract checkup, etc. are being provided.
