CHENNAI: Decision on alliance will be taken at the right time, says Premalatha

Chennai: Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) General Secretary Premalatha Vijayakanth has stated that a decision on her party’s electoral alliance will be made at the right time, and also hinted that a power-sharing coalition government would bring positive change to Tamil Nadu. Speaking to reporters at the Chennai airport, Premalatha said the party would make a considered decision on the alliance before the assembly elections. She said, “Regarding the budget, they have described it as containing 30 key announcements. I will respond after reading it completely. With only three months left for the elections, can all these announcements be implemented? Or will they be implemented after the formation of a new government? These are valid questions.” She further stated that Tamil Nadu deserves a government that implements a budget that is beneficial to the state and its people. Regarding the possibility of a coalition government, she said, “If there is a chance for a power-sharing coalition government in Tamil Nadu, it would be good. It would be a positive change. Let the election results come.” Referring to a recent event at the Isha Center, she said she met Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and L. Murugan, former Minister S.P. Velumani, and the Minister of Puducherry as a courtesy. Regarding the Prime Minister’s visit, she said, “If his visit brings something good to Tamil Nadu, we will welcome it.”
