Chennai: 28.93 lakh voters in 16 constituencies – 74,089 first-time voters

Tamil Nadu: There are 28.93 lakh voters in the 16 assembly constituencies of Chennai district. Of these, 74,089 are young voters who have completed the age of 18.

Chennai Corporation Commissioner and District Election Officer J. Kumaragurubaran released the consolidated voter list for Chennai’s 16 constituencies on Thursday. Details: The final voter list published in February contained 28.30 lakh people. After the publication of the final voter list, the process of registering new voters continued. According to this, as of the 6th, the applications of 63,000 people who applied to register as new voters have been accepted and a consolidated voter list has been prepared.

According to this, the total number of voters in all 16 constituencies is 28.93 lakh. Of these, male voters are 13,95,716 and female voters are 14,96,921. There are 868 third gender voters.

Young voters who have completed the age of 18 include 37,368 men, 36,716 women and 5 transgenders, totaling 74,089. Voters above 85 years of age include 11,960 men, 5,905 women and 3 transgenders, totaling 23,533. There are 6,786 men, 5,905 women and 6 transgenders, a total of 12,697 disabled voters, and 476 men and 83 women, a total of 559 military personnel. Voters by age: 74,089 people between 18-19 years, 4,87,300 people between 20-29 years, 5,46,996 people between 30-39 years, 6,54,823 people between 40-49 years, 5,46,179 people between 50-59 years, 3,48,895 people between 60-69 years, 1,77,405 people between 70-79 years, 50,982 people between 80-89 years, 6,713 people between 90-99 years, 100-109 years, 2 people between 110-119 years, and 4 people above 120 years of age.

The number of voters who have reached the age of 120 years is one each in Dr Radhakrishnan Nagar, Villivakkam, Thiru V K Nagar and Royapuram constituencies.
