Chartered Accountant exam: Madurai student tops

Tamil Nadu: Madurai student P.P. Lokpriya has topped the Chartered Accountants of India (CAI) Basic Exam at the national level.

P.P. Lokpriya hails from Haravipatti, a village near Madurai. She studied in Class 12 at Aurobindo Meera Higher Secondary School in Madurai and passed the public exam with 598 out of 600 marks. Subsequently, she trained at the Chartered Accountants Training Centre in Chennai. Last January, she took the Chartered Accountants Basic Exam conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Lokpriya scored 366 out of 400 and came first at the national level.

Vida’s attempt was a victory

Lokpriya said: “I wanted to become a chartered accountant since childhood. So, after completing my 2nd year, I trained as a chartered accountant.” Now, I have succeeded and am very happy to have secured the first position at the national level. She said that this success comes from studying with full enthusiasm and dedication. More than 100,000 candidates participated in the Chartered Accountants exam held last January, and 21,000 candidates were successful. The special thing is that Lokapriya has topped the list.

Her father Palanikumar is a businessman. Her mother Padma works as a nurse at Rajaji Government Hospital in Madurai. Her sister Kavya is studying in an engineering college.
