Chandigarh: Police have arrested a Phase 3-A resident after a video of him beating up a five-year-old boy living in his neighbourhood surfaced. They said the incident took place on August 29 but a complaint was received on September 29 following which a case was registered. Matour SHO Aman Trikha said the accused, identified as Jahansher Singh, has been arrested.
“The victim was returning home from tuition along with another child when the suspect thrashed him. A case has been registered on the statement of the victim’s father. The incident was recorded in a CCTV camera of a house,” the SHO said. The suspect repeatedly thrashed the child and trampled his chest as he thought the child was mocking him by imitating a dog, police said. The victim’s mother works as a domestic help at the suspect’s neighbour’s house.
