Chandigarh: Goldie Brar’s associates attacked in Burail Model Jail, four injured

Chandigarh: Members of the Goldy Brar gang lodged in Burail Model Jail were attacked by a group of inmates, leaving four seriously injured. The attack took place during dinner. The assailants used kitchen utensils as weapons. Amrit Pal Singh alias Gujjar (27), accused of firing at a businessman’s house in Sector 5 and demanding ransom, has filed a complaint about the incident. Gujjar, lodged in barrack number 9, said he and co-accused Kaushal Singh alias Harry in the same firing case were taking a walk in the barrack when inmates named Abhilash, Kallu and Amit started provoking them.

Gujjar claimed that when he protested, the inmates threatened them, leading to a scuffle. Other inmates present in the barrack intervened and pacified the two groups. Later, when Gujjar and Kaushal were having dinner in the barrack, Abhilash, Sonu, Rahul, Manish, Aman alias Kallu; Sushil Yadav, Amit Kumar alias Dairy, Fauji and others allegedly attacked them with kitchen utensils, spoons and glasses. Gujjar, Kaushal and two other inmates, Raja and Monty Shah, who tried to help the victims, were injured. Police rushed to the spot and admitted the injured to the Government Medical College and Hospital in Sector 32. A case has been registered.
