Chandigarh: Police have registered a case against two immigration consultants. Hardeep Singh had accused Amandeep Singh, owner of an immigration firm in Sector 34, of cheating him in the name of getting a study visa. Madan Kumar alleged that Gurvinder and others cheated him in the name of getting a Canadian visa.
EWS Admission Schedule Released
The UT Education Department has released a centralized online admission schedule for students from economically weaker sections and disadvantaged groups (EWS and DG) in non-aided, recognized private schools in Chandigarh. These schools have been directed to register for online admission in the EWS category in entry level classes before December 14. Registration of candidates will be done from December 16 to January 13. Provisional eligibility will be uploaded from January 14 to 25, followed by the first list on January 28. The second list will be released on February 20 and confirmed by the schools by February 27.
Dusikka, Atharva win chess titles
Dusikka Yumlembam and Atharva Singh Negi won the girls’ under-13 and open category titles respectively on the concluding day of the Chandigarh Under-13 Open and Girls Chess Championship. Negi won the open title by scoring 4.5 points, while Dusikka finished first with three points. The championship was organised by the Chandigarh Chess Association.
