Chandigarh: The UT police has arrested two natives of Punjab for allegedly robbing a cab driver of his car in Sector 38 (west) of the city. In a complaint lodged with the police, Rohit Kumar (19), a resident of Dera Bassi, said he was at the ISBT in Sector 43 when two men approached him. They asked the cab driver to drop them at the Labour Bureau office in Sector 38 (west).
On reaching their destination in Sector 38 (west), the two passengers thrashed the cab driver and snatched his car, police said. A case was registered at the Maloya police station. During investigation, the police arrested the accused Gurpreet Singh (30) and Shamsher Singh (28), both natives of Punjab, and recovered the stolen car from them. Police said both the accused used to work as cab drivers earlier but were unemployed for some time.
