Challan issued to 26 drivers, police seen active late night

Jagdalpur. The police have taken action against 26 drivers in the city who are continuously driving vehicles at arbitrary speed under the influence of alcohol and not following the rules. All the drivers caught during this period were brought to the police station.

It is known that four-wheeler/two-wheeler drivers were driving under the influence of alcohol and not following the traffic rules at different intersections of the city. On which, on the orders of Superintendent of Police Shashimohan Singh, a team was formed for action under the leadership of police station in-charge Leeladhar Rathore.

The team took disciplinary action under the Motor Vehicle Act against 32 four-wheeler/two-wheeler drivers of the city for drunken driving, dangerous driving, driving without license, and drivers without insurance.

In 6 cases of drunk driving, challan action was taken under various sections of 185 MV Act and 26 cases of MV Act, from which a fee of Rs 11,500 was collected, as well as the silencers of more than 20 two-wheelers making excessive noise were removed. But action was taken to get them evicted and traffic rules were explained. Advice was given to follow the rules and drive the vehicle.
