Chaitanya and Sobhita wedding: Gorgeous in gold silk and traditional jewellery
Mumbai: Love and tradition came together as Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala became husband and wife in a beautiful traditional ceremony at the iconic Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad. Amid a ceremony steeped in Telugu culture and family heritage, the couple exchanged vows with each other that won the hearts of everyone present. Sobhita, who is now officially Mrs Akkineni, mesmerized as a South Indian bride in a dazzling Kanjeevaram silk saree with glittering gold temple borders. Her outfit honored her cultural roots and reflected timeless elegance.
Completing her bridal look was a stunning array of gold temple jewellery, which included a traditional basic, matha patti and septum nose ring. Layers of statement necklaces, bangles and earrings added a royal touch, while her sleek bun adorned with South Indian jewelry further accentuated her classic beauty. Keeping the makeup subtle yet striking, she opted for a bronze complexion, golden-smoky eyes and matte lips, which brought out her natural glow. Naga Chaitanya matched his bride perfectly, wearing a traditional white kurta with a red bordered veshti, and a matching red stole. His outfit paid tribute to his late grandfather, legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao, wearing a Pancha, a traditional dhoti from Andhra Pradesh, matching the family heirloom.
The wedding rituals were a meticulous celebration of Telugu Brahmin traditions, which lasted for over eight hours. Every detail, from the ceremonial rituals to the decorations, was a testament to the couple’s dedication to honoring their ancestors. Expressing his heartfelt happiness, the head of the family Nagarjuna Akkineni said, “This wedding represents love, tradition and togetherness, values cherished by my father. It fills us with immense pride and gratitude to see Chay and Sobhita embark on this journey.” The star-studded guest list included some of the biggest names from the South Indian film industry, including Prabhas, SS Rajamouli, Chiranjeevi, Allu Arjun, Nayanthara and Mahesh Babu. Pre-wedding festivities, including a vibrant haldi ceremony, set the tone for this happy union, pictures of which have already won the hearts of fans online.
