Chairman said, Jairam Ramesh does not know ‘A’ ‘B’ ‘C’ about farmers

Delhi: During the monsoon session on Friday, there was a huge uproar in the Upper House Rajya Sabha on the issue of farmers. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan was discussing about MSP. On this, Congress MP Randeep Surjewala, Jairam Ramesh and SP MP Ramji started making noise. Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar intervened on this. He said that India is an agricultural country. You are interrupting the discussion of farmers. This kind of uproar on the issue of farmers is not right. This is not the way to serve the farmer. Jairam Ramesh, you do not even know ‘A’ ‘B’ ‘C’ ‘D’ about farmers.

Actually, during the Question Hour in the proceedings of the Rajya Sabha, Samajwadi Party MP Ram Ji Suman was questioning the Central Government about MSP. He raised questions about the committee formed on 12 July 2000 to help the farmers. Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan answered his question. He said that the purpose of forming this committee is to provide MSP to farmers, make the system transparent and give suggestions for more autonomy to agricultural price and agricultural distribution system. Farmers are like God for us. Serving farmers is like worship for us.
