Bastar. The Jagdalpur FTC court has sentenced an accused who raped an 80-year-old woman in the district to 10 years in jail and a fine of Rs 1,000. The accused youth put a cloth in the mouth of the elderly woman and took her to the bushes and raped her. Now after 3 years he was found guilty and the court has given its verdict.
According to the information, the case is of 4 December 2021. On this day, Hemdhar Kashyap (32), a youth from a village in Darbha police station area, went to the village field. Here an 80-year-old woman was cutting grass in the field. He had told the woman that he would help her in this work. On this pretext, he caught the woman. He put a cloth in her mouth so that she could not scream.
After which he took her behind the bushes where he raped her. After the incident, the woman informed her son and daughter-in-law about it. Then an FIR was lodged at the Darbha police station. The matter reached the court. Now the FTC court has sentenced the accused youth to 10 years in jail and a fine of Rs 1000. Additional Public Prosecutor Preeti Wankhede had pleaded on behalf of the government.
