CG NEWS: 10 bags of rice stolen from procurement centre, minor arrested

Janjgir Champa. A case of paddy theft has come to light in the paddy procurement center in village Lagra of Janjgir Champa district. People present in the procurement center have arrested one of the thieves, a minor. Two other accused fled from the spot. CCTV video of the entire incident has also surfaced. Procurement center in-charge Ranji Singh Chauhan said that two days ago at around 12 o’clock in the night, 10 sacks of paddy kept in the store were stolen. Three thieves were seen stealing in the CCTV camera. After this, three people came on a bike to steal at around 9 o’clock on Monday night. After a chase, a minor thief was caught. The other two fled from the spot leaving the bike and paddy. The minor accused has been handed over to the police. The other two have been identified as Vicky Sahu and Gopal Sahu, who are residents of Muralidih village. When asked, the minor boy said that he used to sell the stolen paddy sacks at Bhima Sahu’s shop in Khapri village. The accused have also stolen paddy sacks from the purchase center and houses of village Khapri. The police have registered a case against the accused.
