As soon as the incident of a pregnant woman giving birth on the ground in the Primary Health Center Navanagar under Ambikapur block of Surguja district came to light, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal had ordered an investigation into the incident. An investigation was conducted by the Health Department regarding the matter.

Under the investigation, statements were taken about the said case in front of everyone, and the mother-child, pregnant woman and newborn children were seen. Block Medical Officer Dr. P.N. Rajwada, who did not follow the protocol regarding delivery, was suspended with immediate effect. Night Staff Second ANM Mrs. Meena Chauhan was removed with immediate effect and posted at Ayushman Mandir Revapur. Staff nurse Kanya Pankra, who was absent from work without prior information, was suspended with immediate effect, during the suspension period, the headquarters of the concerned was made Urban Primary Health Center Navapara. During the suspension period, the concerned person will be eligible for subsistence allowance.
