New Delhi. Trinamool Congress leader Mahua Moitra’s father D.L. After raiding Moitra’s residence, the CBI team, after staying in Kolkata for about six hours on Saturday, conducted a similar operation at her party office in Krishnanagar in Nadia district. On Saturday morning, a team of CBI officials reached the residence of the father of Mahua Moitra, who was recently expelled from the Lok Sabha in connection with the alleged cash-for-query scam.
Soon after the completion of the raid in Kolkata, the team of CBI officers along with Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel reached Mahua Moitra’s party office in Krishnanagar. Mahua has been nominated to contest from Krishnanagar Lok Sabha seat. This office also serves as an election campaign centre. This party office is located in Siddheshwaritala area of Krishnanagar. Mahua Moitra generally lives in Karimpur of the same district. Party insiders fear that the central agency may reach there in the coming time. According to sources, the CBI team took printouts of various documents stored in the computers and laptops found at the residence of Mahua’s father in South Kolkata.
Leader Mahua Moitra’s troubles are showing no signs of ending. According to the information received, today CBI has raided many places including Mahua’s residence in the Cash for Query case. CBI is searching the TMC leader’s residence in Alipore, Kolkata and other places in this case. Let us tell you that CBI had registered an FIR in the cash for query case only yesterday. CBI has registered this FIR on the instructions of Lokpal.
Lokpal on Tuesday ordered the CBI to investigate all aspects of the allegations against Trinamool Congress leader and former MP Mahua Moitra in the ‘cash for query’ case and asked it to submit a report within six months. That in December last year, Mahua Moitra had to lose her MP post in the Cash for Query case. The Lok Sabha had adopted the report of its Ethics Committee in the case, in which he was found guilty in the cash for query case. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey had filed a complaint against Mahua to the Lok Sabha Speaker. In the complaint, he had said that Mahua had taken cash and gifts from Dubai-based businessman Darshan Hiranandani for asking questions in Parliament against Adani.
