The Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (HBCH & RC), Punjab, has renewed its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Punjab, to continue providing cashless treatment to ESIC beneficiaries.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Ashish Gulia, Director of HBCH & RC Punjab, and Deepak Malik, Regional Director of ESIC, in the presence of Dr. Rachita Biswas, Medical Commissioner of ESIC, and Dr. Rajiv Chhabra, State Medical Officer.
The objective of this renewed collaboration is to ensure that beneficiaries covered under the ESIC scheme continue to receive high-quality healthcare services without any financial burden.
Under this agreement, HBCH & RC offers a comprehensive range of medical services to ESIC beneficiaries, including Outpatient Department (OPD) services, Inpatient Department (IPD) care, diagnostic and laboratory services, emergency treatment, daycare services, and radiotherapy.
This partnership between HBCH & RC and ESIC has already benefited thousands of patients across Punjab. During the financial year 2025–26, a total of 2,395 ESIC cardholders availed cashless treatment facilities at the institute’s New Chandigarh campus, while 713 beneficiaries received treatment at its Sangrur campus. On average, approximately 150 beneficiaries utilize ESIC facilities at the institute every month. Dr. Gulia expressed his gratitude to ESIC Punjab for their continued cooperation and support.
He stated, “Partnerships such as this are crucial for extending high-quality healthcare to all sections of society, particularly to those who may face financial constraints in accessing medical treatment. We are fully committed to providing patient-centric care and ensuring that no patient is deprived of treatment due to financial limitations.”
