Case regarding attack on TPNODL team: Three arrested

Bhadrak: Police arrested three individuals for allegedly attacking a TPNODL enforcement team during a raid against electricity theft in Chandipur village, under the jurisdiction of Bonth police station, on Monday.

The accused have been identified as Mir Abdul Hashim (alias Hanso, 45) from Keonjhar district, and Mir Abdul Mukit (48) and Mir Imtiaz Alam (26), both residents of Chandipur. All three were produced in court and remanded to judicial custody. The arrests followed an attack on the TPNODL enforcement team, which had conducted the raid after detecting alleged electricity theft involving unauthorized hook connections.

Acting on a complaint, the Bonth police registered a case and initiated an investigation. Bonth IIC Suprakash Mohanty stated that the police relied on video footage, witness statements, and seized materials to gather preliminary evidence against the accused.

Meanwhile, TPNODL officials disconnected the electricity connection registered in the name of Mir Sultana Khatoon in the presence of the police. Utility officials stated that the connection was terminated following the alleged electricity theft incident, and the consumer has been barred from obtaining an electricity connection in the future.
