Case filed against Tollywood actress for damaging police officer’s car

Hyderabad (IANS) | The Hyderabad Police on Tuesday registered a case against Tollywood actress Dimple Hayathi and her friend for damaging the car of a top police officer.

He hit the official vehicle of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Rahul Hegde with his car on Monday night.

The Indian Police Service (IPS) officer and actress and her friend David Pausch live in the same building at Journalists’ Colony in Jubilee Hills.

DCP’s driver Chetan Kumar had lodged a complaint at Jubilee Hills station against the actress and her friend for damaging a vehicle parked in the allotted parking space in the basement. The complainant alleges that the duo intentionally damaged the car.

Based on the complaint, the police registered a case against Dimple Hayathi and her friend under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Both were called to the police station and a notice was issued under section 41A of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

The DCP told reporters that when the driver had parked the car last night, he deliberately hit his vehicle, which damaged the car.

The IPS officer said that he had earlier blocked the way of his car with wrong parking of his vehicle and had an argument with the watchmen, staff and neighbours.

However, he added that he has nothing against him personally. He said, I do not know who they are and they also do not know who I am. I am new to this place.

He denied that the traffic challan issued against the actress’ vehicle had anything to do with the issue. Challans were issued for rash driving and wrong number plates. The DCP said that the traffic police keep issuing challans for violating traffic rules and it was not done only in his case.

Dimple Hayathi made her film debut in 2019 with ‘Gulf’ and has worked in films like ‘Khiladi’ and ‘Rambanam’. He also acted in the 2021 Hindi film ‘Atrangi Re’ and acted in a few Tamil films.
