He was arrested by the police on Friday.

Let us tell you that on June 8, 2023, Nijjar was shot dead by two gunmen outside a Gurudwara in British Columbia. Canada had made baseless allegations of India’s involvement in this murder, after which the relations between the two countries are going on very tense. However, India had rejected Canada’s allegations as baseless. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has released the photographs and identities of the three accused arrested in this case, who were arrested in the city of Edmonton, Alberta.

IHIT disclosed
Canada’s Integrated Homicide Investigative Team (IHIT) announced the identities of all three accused in the Hardeep Singh Nijjar murder case after arresting them. IHIT said that the arrested accused Karan Brar, Kamalpreet Singh and Karanpreet Singh are prima facie accused of murdering Hardeep Nijjar and conspiring to murder. He was arrested Friday with the help of Alberta RCMP, IHIT investigators and members of the Province of British Columbia. Canadian police have released photographs of the three accused, along with photographs of a car believed to have been used by the suspects in and around the Surrey area prior to the murder.

Canadian Police said the matter is very serious
“Regarding the three suspects arrested for their alleged involvement in the murder of Nijjar, RCMP Assistant Commissioner David Teboul said that we are not able to comment on the nature of the evidence… However, I will say that this case remains under very active investigation ” The investigation is still ongoing. Superintendent Mandeep Mukar, officer-in-charge of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT), said, “We know that there are others who played a role in this murder and we are dedicated to identifying and arresting each and every one of them.” . Earlier, an alleged video footage of the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar had surfaced. In the video, some armed men were seen shooting Nijjar. Canadian police called them ‘contract killing’.

What did the Canadian Police say about the arrested accused having links with India?
Canadian police personnel have not yet provided any evidence of any kind of connection with India after the arrest of the three accused in the Hardeep Nijjar case. However, it was being speculated in the Canadian media that the Canadian Police may reveal some secrets in this regard. Because in September last year, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau directly accused India for this. However, India has repeatedly denied these allegations and described them as “absurd and motivated”. (Reuters)
