RCB’s defeat meant that Mumbai Indians beat Sunrisers Hyderabad to clinch the final spot in the play-offs.

After five-time champions MI entered the play-offs, Sachin Tendulkar posted a post on social media.

Sachin tweeted, Cameron Green and Shubman Gill batted well for Mumbai Indians. Exceptional batting from Virat Kohli with two back-to-back hundreds. They all had their own style and their own class. Very glad to see MI in the playoffs.

Earlier in the day, MI needed a win against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their last match of the league stage. Cameron Green’s superb innings of an unbeaten century off 47 kept Mumbai’s hopes alive and defeated Sunrisers by eight wickets.

GT will next take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Qualifier 1 on May 23 while MI will take on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Eliminator 1 on May 24.
