According to the information, a high speed bus going from Kanpur towards Hamirpur hit the students riding a bicycle and crushed them near Patara town on Kanpur Sagar Highway. In the accident, three students riding a bicycle died tragically on the spot. All three have been identified as Deepak Tiwari, Ankush Prajapati, Manish Kumar, residents of Kunwarpur of Ghatampur police station area. All three are said to be polytechnic students. Passersby called and informed the police about the incident. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and sent the three students to Patara CHC. Villagers say that there may be more students at the spot. At present the police is searching for the students.
