Bulldozer operation on Energy Department land, 60 buildings and a madrasa demolished.

Dehradun: The administration launched a bulldozer campaign last week to remove illegal encroachments on land belonging to the power department. Under this campaign, approximately 60 buildings and a madrasa, spread across 11 hectares and illegally occupied by 111 families, were demolished. This action is being seen as a decisive step by the administration against illegal encroachments and unauthorized constructions on urban land. The state government, under the leadership of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, has adopted a strict stance on the issue of illegal constructions and shrines. CM Dhami has so far demolished more than 550 illegal shrines and sealed over 200 illegal madrasas. He says that ensuring compliance with laws and regulations in the state is the government’s priority, and no kind of illegal encroachment will be tolerated.

This bulldozer campaign in the Pachhwadoon area specifically targeted government land belonging to the power department. Local administration officials stated that construction had been ongoing there for many years, violating the area’s regulatory policies. Officials said that the objective of demolishing these buildings and madrasas was not only to remove illegal encroachments but also to protect the state’s government land and resources. Officials stated that all necessary precautions were taken during the operation, and no one sustained any physical injuries. The land where the illegal structures were demolished will now be used for planned development work and public utility projects in the future.

Local residents have also welcomed the administration’s action. They say that illegal encroachments had long led to disorder and security problems in the area. The bulldozer campaign will now increase public confidence in law and order and ensure the proper use of government land. The Uttarakhand government’s policy is clear: no illegal constructions, illegal shrines, or madrasas will be tolerated in the state. CM Dhami says that those who violate government rules will face appropriate action. With this campaign, the state government has sent a clear message that the administration is always ready to take strict action to prevent illegal construction and encroachment. Swift action will be taken in such cases in the future as well, to ensure the protection of both public and government property.
