Punjab: The Border Security Force on Friday seized a pistol smuggled from Pakistan. The pistol was wrapped in white adhesive tape, which was later handed over to the Gharinda police, where a case was registered against unknown persons under the Arms Act.
Parmeshwar Lal, company commander of BSF’s 144 battalion, told the police that the Border Security Force personnel thought it was smuggled goods and hence they handed it over to the police for investigation.
Police opened the wrapped item in the presence of Border Security Force officials and found that it was a pistol without a magazine. Police said further investigation is underway.
