Raipu. Chhattisgarh State Child Welfare Council is continuously working for the welfare of boys and girls in the state. The Council is running various schemes and programs for health, education, protection of child rights and to improve their standard of living. Which is a commendable work. Minister Brijmohan Aggarwal said this during the general body meeting of the council on Wednesday. In the meeting, Brijmohan Aggarwal was elected unopposed as the chairman of the council. On this occasion, he said that no post is required for service. We can serve the needy even without holding office.
Shri Aggarwal informed that the Council is conducting various works for poor and disabled children. Which includes Jeevan Jyoti Children’s Home (Girls) Raipur, Kondagaon, Children’s Home (Boys) Mana Camp, Open Shelter Home, Speech and Hearing Therapy Centre. Which is a commendable work. He also informed that the Central Government has given approval to the Council to open a Speech and Hearing Therapy Center in Naya Raipur for which the State Government will allot 30 acres of land. Provision has also been made for Bal Bhavan in the budget of the state government. Speech therapy center will be opened in Sapre School and services will be expanded in Mana Children’s Home.
Not only this, in the coming time a special post-matric educational institute will also be opened for disabled boys and girls. Shri Aggarwal said that the economic situation has deteriorated due to the neglect of the Council during the Congress rule. To improve this, Rs 5 lakh per year will be given by the Text Book Corporation. He also announced to give Rs 5 lakh to the council from his side. In the meeting held today, Chandresh Shah was elected General Secretary, Indira Jain as Treasurer, Dr. Ashok Tripathi as Vice President and Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Lakshmi Rajwade was nominated as Senior Vice President. Also, the number of members in the executive of the council was increased from 10 to 25. Shri Aggarwal congratulated all the officials and members.
