IRITTY: One of the bodies of the students, who went missing in the undercurrents from Padiyoor Poovam Bridge, part of Pazhassi dam, has been found. The body of Shaharbana of Edayanoor Shahasath Mansil and final year degree student of Irikkur Sibga College was recovered. A search is on for Surya of Chakkarakallu Nalampeedika Shrilakshmi House, a student of the same college.
The two went missing on Tuesday evening. Scuba teams from Iritty, Peravoor, Thalassery, Koothuparambu, Kannur, Payyannur and Mattannur searched many areas but could not find the two.30-member team of NDRF from Chennai reached by evening. They resumed search at 6 am this morning. ADM Naveen Babu said, if necessary, will seek the help of navy along with NDRF.A large crowd is witnessed in the area since yesterday morning. A large number of people’s representatives are also in the spot. K Sudhakaran MP, Sunny Joseph MLA, CPM central committee member P K Sreemathy, Iritty Municipal Chairperson K Sreelatha and many others are also in the area.
