Janjgir-Champa. 14 tourists boating in the Mahanadi were in trouble when their boat got stuck in the river due to a strong thunderstorm. But it was a matter of relief that the sailors, showing understanding, took the boat to the island in the middle of the river even before it sank. On receiving the information, the administration and the police team, showing activeness, rescued all the 14 tourists late in the night.
Last evening, 6 children, 4 women and 4 men were boating in two boats at Shivrinarayan in Janjgir district. Then suddenly a storm started. At this time the boat was in the middle of the river. Due to the storm, it was difficult to take the boat to the shore and due to the strong current of wind, the balance of the boat started to waver. On which both the sailors, showing understanding, took the boats to a nearby island. After reaching the island, the tourists called their acquaintances to inform about it. After which its information reached the administration. Then Collector Richa Prakash Chaudhary and SP Vijay Aggarwal engaged the SDRF team for rescue. Local fishermen also assisted in the rescue and by late night all 14 tourists were safely evacuated.
