Maharashtra: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) P-North ward, which includes areas of Malad, Madh and Kurar, has identified around 123 properties that have been built using fake maps. P-North ward assistant municipal commissioner Kundan Valvi said the ward office has demolished 24 such unauthorised structures so far this month and notices have been sent to the remaining. Valvi said the ward has a higher number of properties, especially bungalows, that are being built using fake maps compared to other municipal wards in Mumbai.
“Most such structures are in Madh, Kurar areas and the BMC aims to take action against all unauthorised structures. Given the natural beauty, owners use the extended areas. Many bungalows are used for film and serial shooting. We have sent show-cause notices to the owners,” the ward official said.
