Bloody clash in wholesale vegetable market Dumratarai, fierce fighting between two parties

Raipur. Raipur. There was chaos in the wholesale vegetable market Dumratarai in the capital Raipur on Saturday morning, when two parties got into a fierce fight over an old dispute. The altercation between the two sides escalated so much that sticks and punches started flying. Many people from both sides have been injured in this fight. The injured were admitted to Civil Hospital Mana Camp, where their treatment is going on. After the incident, the police station Mana has registered a cross FIR on the complaint of both the parties and started investigating the matter.

The complainant, who works as a government contractor, said that he was at home on the morning of 16 August 2025, when his elder brother called and informed that his son Asjad Ahmed Khan was attacked in the wholesale vegetable market Dumratarai. As soon as he got the information, he reached the police station Mana and then went to the civil hospital, where his son was found undergoing treatment.

Asjad Khan told his father that at around 7:30 in the morning he had gone to the market to buy vegetables with his friend Nazim Sheikh. Then some youths standing at the gate started abusing him by bringing up an old fight. When he protested, they abused his mother and sister, threatened to kill him and beat him with fists.

After this, when he went inside the vegetable market, a youth hit him with a stick, which injured his head, back and shoulder. When Nazim Sheikh came to intervene, the attackers beat him too. Nazim got injured on his hand, head and near the eye. Later, the traders present nearby somehow stopped the fight and saved the injured. After the incident, during interrogation, the names of the attackers were revealed as Abhijeet Tiwari, Ashutosh Tiwari and Amit Tiwari.

Second report: Security supervisor and his companion injured

In the same incident, the other party has also lodged a report in Mana police station. The complainant, who claimed to be the supervisor of a security agency in the wholesale vegetable market, said that he was standing at the market gate with his companion Ashutosh Tiwari on the morning of August 16. At the same time, Asjad Khan and Nazim Sheikh reached there. They allege that both of them started abusing each other over an old quarrel and when an attempt was made to stop them, they started fighting. The accused not only used foul language but also attacked with fists and some solid object. In this fight, the security supervisor suffered injuries on his left eye, left thumb and head, while Ashutosh Tiwari suffered injuries on his back and right thigh. The report said that when both of them were going to file a report, the accused also attacked their third partner Amit Tiwari and he suffered injuries on his head, eye and back. This party named the attackers as Asjad Khan and Nazim Sheikh. Traders stopped the fight According to eyewitnesses, the dispute between the two parties over an old rivalry escalated so much that a fight started in no time. Other traders and vegetable vendors present there intervened and separated the two parties. Due to the fight, there was chaos in the wholesale market for some time. However, the situation became normal after the intervention of the police and the injured were sent to the hospital.

Police registered a cross FIR

The Mana police station has registered a cross FIR on the complaint of both the parties. On one hand, Asjad Khan and his companion Nazim Sheikh have accused Abhijeet, Ashutosh and Amit Tiwari of attack, while on the other hand the security supervisor and his companions have called Asjad and Nazim as attackers. Police say that the matter is being investigated. Statements of both the parties have been recorded and medical reports of the injured have also been sought. Traders and other people present at the spot will also be questioned.

Old rivalry became the reason for the fight

In the preliminary investigation, it has come to light that the root of the fight is an altercation that happened two days ago. On Saturday morning, both the parties came face to face over the same dispute and the matter reached violence. Police is also investigating from this angle. All the people injured in the incident are being treated at Civil Hospital Mana Camp. The police have conducted a medical examination of the injuries of the injured and the sections are likely to be enhanced or modified after the report comes in.
