Black panther spotted in Achanakmar Tiger Reserve

Raipur. Information has come to light about the presence of black panther along with ten tigers in Achanakmar Tiger Reserve of Bilaspur. ATR management has confirmed this. ATR Deputy Director UR Ganesh said that the picture of black leopard has been captured in the camera. Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap also shared this picture on social media. He has called it an achievement for ATR management.

Here, wildlife experts said that the black leopard was captured for the first time in ATR in the year 2011, when it was a cub. This is not a new species but a leopard, which is black due to genes. However, this kind of black panther is rarely seen.

After Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap released the picture of black panther, wildlife experts have given different opinions. It has been told that the picture of black leopard (melanistic-dark color) in ATR was captured for the first time in the year 2011 by Dr. Rajendra Mishra, when the leopard was a cub. After this, a picture of a black leopard was also revealed in the year 2020.
