BJP government ruined UP’s power system: Akhilesh Yadav

Lucknow (IANS) | Samajwadi Party’s national president Akhilesh Yadav has said that the BJP government has ruined the electricity system of the state. Availability of electricity is only on paper. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav said in his statement on Wednesday that the public is crying foul due to undeclared power cuts in the BJP government, which claims 24-hour power supply. People are boiling in the heat even after paying the expensive electricity bill. Life in the state has been thrown out of gear due to the scorching heat. Unaware of people’s problems, BJP leaders are pretending to eat tiffin.

SP chief Akhilesh said that it was already known that this year there will be severe heat. Accordingly, the government had to prepare. This government has been in power for six years but BJP has not done anything to overcome the power crisis. Due to government inefficiency, the power system has completely derailed.

He said that there is no fixed time for electricity to come and go in the cities. There is chaos in the electricity department. The crisis of electricity is becoming very heavy for the farmers in the villages. In the Prime Minister’s own parliamentary constituency, instead of 24 hours, electricity is coming for 24 hours a week.

He said that transformers are blowing every day as soon as they are overloaded. There is power cut without schedule. In the capital Lucknow, along with frequent tripping of electricity, there is a crisis of electricity and water for two to three days due to blowing of transformers at many places. Due to less power shortage.

Akhilesh said that since the BJP has no connection with the sufferings of the people, the Chief Minister never felt the need to pay attention to the power generation in relation to the increasing demand. Not even a single unit of electricity was produced during the 6 years of BJP government.
