BJP demands SIT probe into TDR bond sale by MCT

Tirupati: BJP leader Naveen Kumar Reddy has demanded a probe by the SIT (Special Investigation Team) or the Vigilance Department into the TDR bonds issued by the Corporation to property owners to acquire land for roads in the city. Speaking to the media along with Puligoru Prabhakar Reddy and some affected land owners here on Monday, Naveen Kumar Reddy informed that he has already written a letter to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu seeking a probe into the TDR bonds scam. He alleged that the previous Corporation Commissioner, some senior officials of the Town Planning Department, revenue officials, officials of the Sub-Registrar’s Office and some corporators were also involved in the scam, which caused losses to the municipality and also affected many people who had voluntarily given land for the Master Plan roads in the city. He said he was not against the Master Plan roads, adding that he was only concerned about the huge losses being caused to the Corporation and the genuine people who had given their land for road development. The BJP leader said he was preparing to file a public interest litigation (PIL) in the Andhra Pradesh High Court on TDR bonds after obtaining details from the Revenue Department through an RTI.
