The BJP in Karnataka on Tuesday demanded that Congress leader Syed Naseer Hussain’s name be included in the FIR registered for raising ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans and said it will request Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar to allow him to take oath. Should not be given. Members of the House until the investigation is completed.
Three people have been arrested for allegedly raising pro-Pakistan slogans during the victory celebrations in the corridors of ‘Vidhan Soudha’ after Hussain’s re-election to the Rajya Sabha from Karnataka in the February 27 elections.
BJP state president and MLA BY Vijayendra said the government would not have made the arrests if the party had not released the investigation report of a private Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) on the “pro-Pakistan sloganeering” video.
“Nasir Hussain should be included as the fourth accused in the case related to raising ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans,” Vijayendra told reporters here. He alleged that the police had removed his name from the FIR.
He said, “Public representatives and Rajya Sabha members take oath to uphold the Constitution and protect the sovereignty and integrity of the country. Hussain should not take the oath until the investigation is completed.”
Vijayendra said, “We are going to write a letter today on behalf of the BJP to the Vice President, who is the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, in this regard. The BJP will force Hussain not to take oath until the investigation is completed.” Know why the government is not making public the report of the government FSL on this incident? He also demanded that the names of the “masterminds of the conspiracy” be made public.
