Bhopal. Regarding the Lok Sabha elections, BJP has announced the names of its candidates for 24 seats in Madhya Pradesh. In which the names of former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and BJP State President VD Sharma are also included. However, this time some faces were repeated and some faces were changed. In which the name of sitting MP from Bhopal, Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur is also included.
BJP today released the list of candidates for 24 seats of MP. In which Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur’s name is not there. BJP has canceled his ticket. Pragya Thakur has often been in controversies due to her controversial statements. According to the information, the high command is angry due to his statements. Due to which he did not get the ticket this time. The party has made Alok Sharma its candidate from Bhopal.
Pragya Singh Thakur joined the membership of Bharatiya Janata Party on 17 April 2019 and the party gave her Lok Sabha ticket from Bhopal to be a member of the seventeenth Lok Sabha. Here his main contest was with Digvijay Singh of Congress. She was elected Bhopal MP by defeating Digvijay Singh in the elections.
The Election Commission of India had directed the police to register an FIR against Pragya Singh Thakur for her Babri Masjid remarks. In which he participated in the demolition of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya in 1992. The Election Commission later banned Sadhvi Pragya from campaigning for 72 hours for violating the model code of conduct.
BJP has made Alok Sharma its candidate from Bhopal. Alok Sharma has been a candidate from North Assembly constituency twice and has also been a former mayor. Sharma is also currently the acting vice president of BJP. BJP has been winning elections from Bhopal Lok Sabha seat continuously for the last 35 years.
It is noteworthy that the central leadership of BJP has announced the names of the candidates. Candidates for 195 seats have been announced in the press conference held at Delhi Headquarters. Announcement has been made on 24 seats of Madhya Pradesh. Former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan will contest from Vidisha and Jyotiraditya Scindia will contest from Guna. Chhindwara, Indore, Ujjain Dhar, Balaghat have been put on hold. Names of 2 former Chief Ministers are included in this list. The youth will contest elections on 47 seats. Women will contest elections on 28 seats.
