Tamil Nadu: BJP State Secretary Karate R. Thiagarajan stated that the BJP and AIADMK will win all the seats contested by the Congress in the Assembly elections.
On the occasion of International Women’s Day (March 8), he participated in an event organized by the Chennai Corporation All Department Employees Association in Velachery on Saturday and distributed welfare aid. He said:
The Assembly elections will bring about a political shift. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has implemented welfare schemes for the development of all. Since the Indian Masters’ Association requested the Commissioner regarding the issue of Chennai Corporation sanitation workers, assurances have been given that all unemployed people will be provided with jobs.
In the Assembly elections, the BJP and AIADMK are gaining a strong lead in Chennai seats. Consequently, the BJP candidate will definitely win in Velachery. For the past several years, I have served as a ward member of the Velachery area and as the Mayor of Chennai. Accordingly, several demands, such as the construction of a fire station, high-tower lighting, and a wall to prevent tsunami damage, have been met. Therefore, if given the opportunity, I will contest the Velachery seat on behalf of the BJP.
Former DMK president Rahul Gandhi does not want an alliance between the DMK and the Congress. However, efforts are underway to form an alliance with the Congress and contest the elections in Puducherry. According to reports, if an alliance is formed, Rahul Gandhi may join Vijay on the campaign trail in Puducherry.
