Bike thief arrested from weekly market

Ambikapur: Police arrested a vicious accused of two-wheeler theft. Special police team and Lundra police station have recovered 5 two-wheelers worth about Rs 5 lakh stolen from rural and urban areas from the possession of the accused. According to the police, the applicant Shankar Kumar Paikara resident Udari Baherapara police station Lundra filed a report that on June 12, the applicant had gone to the weekly market Udari on his two-wheeler, the applicant had parked his motorcycle on the side and went to the market, after returning the applicant saw that the applicant’s motorcycle was not at its parked place, which has been stolen by some unknown thief, on the report of the applicant, a crime was registered in Lundra police station and taken into investigation.

chhattisgarh news Special police team and Lundra police team had alerted the informers regarding the suspects involved in the incident and the members of the special team were keeping a close watch on the suspects in the incident spot and surrounding areas. Through an informer, the police team received information that Habib Ansari, resident of village Ara Chowki Bariyon Rajpur, District Balrampur, was roaming around on a stolen Honda Shine motorcycle. He was caught and questioned by the continuous efforts of the police team.

During interrogation, the suspect told his name to be Habib Ansari of Ara Chowki Bariyon Police Station Rajpur District Balrampur. When questioned about the two-wheeler in the suspect’s possession, he was evasive.

When the police team interrogated the suspect with wisdom, he accepted stealing the said Honda Shine vehicle from the Udari weekly market. On further interrogation of the accused, he accepted stealing a total of 5 two-wheelers from rural and urban areas and hiding them in his possession. A total of 5 two-wheelers were recovered at the behest of the accused. Since evidence of crime was found against the accused, he was arrested in the case and sent to judicial custody. In the last month till now, Sarguja Police has been conducting a drive in the cases of two-wheeler theft and a total of 28 two-wheelers stolen from city and rural areas have been recovered from the possession of various accused.
