Bihar: Vijay Kumar Sinha reacted to Lalan Singh’s resignation offer.

Patna: Hours after it became clear that Rajeev Ranjan (Lalan) Singh has offered to resign from the post of national president of Janata Dal-United (JD(U)), Bihar Leader of Opposition (LoP) Vijay Kumar Sinha Said that a self-respecting person would never accept such a farewell and he should have submitted his resignation earlier. Sinha said, “A self-respecting person never accepts such a farewell. When the party and leadership do not have confidence in him, there is no point in continuing in that post. He (Lalan Singh) should have resigned earlier.” To ANI on Friday.

Speaking on the way the entire incident unfolded during the JDU national executive meeting, the opposition leader said, “The way the entire incident unfolded in front of the press and media is shameful.” Lalan Singh’s resignation offer has come amid speculations about change of leadership in the party. Lalan Singh had also attended the party’s national executive meeting at the Constitution Club in Delhi along with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and other party leaders.

Bihar minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary confirmed Lalan Singh’s resignation offer and said, “JD(U) national executive meeting is going on. If they accept our proposal, Nitish Kumar will be the party president.” Lalan Singh told CM Nitish Kumar that he will be busy in elections, hence he wants to hand over the post of party president to him and Nitish Kumar accepted it…” Nitish Kumar is now set to take charge as JDU president, while the party is gearing up for the Lok Sabha elections in 2024 and assembly elections in 2025. Earlier in the day, some JDU members were seen protesting outside the Constitution Club in Delhi with slogans like “How should the Prime Minister of the country be?” Slogans were seen raising slogans like Nitish Kumar. The meeting is taking place just days after the important Indian alliance meeting in Delhi. JDU, part of the alliance, will now hold intensive talks with Congress regarding the alliance in the state.
