Muzaffarpur (Bihar): A Chinese national has been arrested in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district for allegedly not carrying valid travel documents, police said on Friday. Muzaffarpur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rakesh Kumar said the Chinese national was arrested near Laxmi Chowk under the jurisdiction of Brahmpura police station on Thursday.
A map of China, a mobile phone and three small stone statues were recovered from him, the SSP said. The Chinese national, identified as Li Jiaqi, hails from Shandong province in the neighbouring country. “The Chinese national has been arrested for not carrying valid travel documents, including visa. A case has been registered against him under relevant sections of the Foreigners Act,” the official said. The SSP said senior police officers are questioning him to find out why he came to India.
